Path to Publication
Your Path to Publication
Once we receive your synopsis and manuscript, our editorial team will conduct an initial review to determine which of our publishing programs best aligns with your book’s strengths, potential, and market fit. Based on this evaluation, we will provide feedback on your next steps, which may include a referral to our editing services along with a quote, or you may choose to work with your own editor if revisions are necessary for publication. Our goal is to guide you toward the best path for your book’s success while ensuring it meets professional publishing standards.
Your Publishing Journey: Step by Step
Step 1: Submission & Initial Review
-
Submit your synopsis and manuscript.
-
Our editorial team evaluates its potential and determines qualification for one of our publishing paths.
-
Next Steps:
-
If your manuscript is one that (a) aligns with our publishing goals, (b) is a story we would like to publish, and (c) is ready to move forward with, we will advance a publishing offer (based on our three publishing programs shown below).
-
If your manuscript is one that (a) aligns with our publishing goals, (b) is a story we would like to publish, and (c) is NOT ready to move forward with due to editing needs, we will recommend the manuscript be edited further ( a service we may be able to provide, for an editing fee).
-
If your manuscript does not align with our goals (this does not necessarily mean the manuscript is not a well-written story), we will inform you of our decision not to go forward.
-
Step 1A: Editing Services (Optional, Not Included in Publishing Fees)
A well-edited manuscript is essential for success. If our review determines that your manuscript requires editing before publication, you have the following options:
-
Professional Editing Services – We provide a quote for our editorial services, which may include developmental editing, line editing, or copyediting. These services are separate from publishing costs unless explicitly included in your agreement.
-
Independent Editing – You may choose to work with your own professional editor before resubmitting your manuscript for consideration.
We encourage all authors to invest in high-quality editing to ensure their work meets professional standards. Once your manuscript is polished, we move forward to Step 2.
Step 2: Path Selection & Publishing Agreement
-
Based on our review, your book may qualify for:
-
The Basecamp (Traditional Publishing – Edge Weaver Books Imprint)
-
The Expedition (Hybrid Publishing – Edge Weaver Fusion)
-
The Summit (Title Acquisition)
-
-
We present the publishing contract with details on services, royalties, and next steps.
Step 3: Production & Preparation
-
Editing & Proofreading – Final refinements ensure your book is polished and professional.
-
Cover Design & Formatting – Your book is designed and formatted for print and digital distribution.
-
Marketing & Branding – We develop promotional strategies based on your publishing path and our marketing policies.
Step 4: Publishing & Distribution
-
We focus on digital and online marketplaces for the distribution of both eBooks and print editions (trade paperback and hardcover).
-
Your book will be available across major online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other global platforms.
-
Authors in The Expedition path remain actively involved in their book’s success while retaining higher royalties.
-
For The Summit path, Edge Weaver Books acquires full rights and manages sales & promotions.
Step 5: Inclusion in Our Marketing, Launch, and Author Support Programs
-
Your book may be included in our marketing programs to improve visibility and reader engagement.
-
Launch support is our structured pre-release process, which may include promotional events, outreach and other progroms.
-
Ongoing author support helps you navigate post-publication opportunities and long-term career growth.
Your Publishing Adventure Starts Here
Once your path is chosen, our team will work with you every step of the way to ensure your book reaches its fullest potential. Whether you’re embarking on your first publishing journey or expanding your career as an author, we are here to help you navigate the adventure of bringing your book to the world.

Basecamp
For manuscripts that align with our traditional publishing model, we offer a full-service contract, guiding your book from manuscript to market. This path includes:
Editorial support to refine and enhance your manuscript.
Professional cover and interior design to create a visually compelling book.
Marketing, distribution, and sales support, ensuring your book reaches online bookstores and retailers.
Ongoing author support, including promotion planning and future publishing opportunities.
Competitive royalties paid to the author based on Net Revenues.
This path is like a traditional publishing experience without financial investment, with Edgeweaver Books handling every aspect of publishing while assisting in virtual promotion strategies, primarily for online sales.

Expedition
Our Hybrid Publishing Program gives authors the ability to join the independent publishing journey while still benefiting from professional guidance. Expedition offers a flexible, collaborative experience. Authors in this path share production costs while retaining higher royalties, ensuring they remain deeply involved in their book’s success.
We offer three levels of service (Standard pricing is for books up to 50,000 words):
1. The Pathfinder – a standard eBook publication.
2. The Voyager – eBook and Trade Paperback publication.
3. The Trailblazer – eBook and Paperback Publication with enhanced Book Lauch marketing programs.
4. Concierge Services - Authors who are in our Expedition Programs have certain concierge services available to them.
Each level is designed to help you navigate your publishing adventure with the right mix of professional support and creative independence. A higher royalty rate is paid to those authors who assist in financing their books under the Expedition Program.

Summit
For manuscripts that align with Edge Weaver Books’ publishing vision, we may offer to purchase the title outright. This path is best suited for authors who prefer a one-time financial payout rather than long-term royalties. By choosing this route:
The author receives a lump-sum payment for their manuscript.
Edgeweaver Books retains all rights and manages every aspect of publishing, marketing, and sales.
The book is integrated into our publishing catalog and promoted accordingly.
This option is ideal for authors who want to sell their manuscript upfront while trusting Edge Weaver Books to bring it to life. There are no royalty payments made to the author in the Summit Program.
