We are seeking original short stories that fuse the unyielding courage of the Old West with the mysterious and the otherworldly—tales where gunslingers become champions, where outlaws confront ancient forces of evil, and where pioneers uncover artifacts that unlock their true potential.

Submission Categories

Short Stories: We welcome submissions of short stories with a word count of 4-8,000 words. 

Weird West Guidelines and Information

Tone: From daring and adventurous to dark and oppressive to whimsically eerie, your story must evoke the indomitable spirit of the frontier while embracing the uncanny.

Originality: Blaze new trails with narratives that stand out—be it cowboys battling specters of the past, sheriffs upholding justice against eldritch horrors, or nomadic heroes seeking redemption amidst mystical landscapes.

Due Date: Please get your submissions in by January 15, 2025.

Compensation: Selected authors will receive $25 and a complimentary copy of the anthology.
